Description

Mass Effect is an award-winning, high-intensity performance. Together, the cast push their physical limits, deal with exhaustion, motivation, and group dynamics. Spatial patterns carve out complex running formations and team collaboration becomes key, as they push to the limits of their physical thresholds, moving beyond exhaustion. Members of the local community join the stage in the end of the performance. Pumping up the energy to offer that last push to keep going, filling the theatre with an energetic pulse and a total Mass Effect. A tremendous spectacle that fills the room with vitality and joy. Part of #Danish.

4.5 STARS. The piece had great rhythm and pace. Exhilarating. There was a real sense of endurance and really lived up to the synopsis of 'pushing beyond the limit'. Each performer was strong and really enjoyed the help of the volunteers. The full frontal nudity was quite a suprise.

The description of this performance says it all. This is a high energy, high octane movement piece that doesn't let up for an hour. It's surprisingly energising and enthralling, and the performers engaging - carrying us with them through their obvious pain. One we took a chance on - we were not disappointed. An unexpected addition to our 'Go See' list.

Thought-provoking and powerful. At times, the performers evoked positivity, humor and energy; at times, exhausted rawness and ritualism. Overall, a fun piece of physical theater.

Absolutely absorbing from start to finish. From the very start I felt as though I wanted to join in this exercise class / dance. The addition of local dancers late on helped intensify everything (although not all of them fully bought into the energy and spirit of the piece) whilst the 5 main dancers were fantastic from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Don't be misled by the strong start. It shifts up gear several times from there.
