Description
Man of letters. Aesthete. Victorian moralist. Playwright. Oscar Wilde wore many masks. But as a well–meaning professor and his eager student trace the life of the legendary writer, it becomes clear there may be more masks waiting in the shadows. As they dig deeper, we begin to wonder. Are they hiding something? What if some masks are better left in the shadows? A test of wits, of "truth", and an examination of the fabulous and scandal-ridden life of Oscar Wilde and the man behind the masks. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Brilliant 2 hander, very slick production with a replacement cast member so good you didnt really notice she was reading the script.. Well worth seeing with lots of Wilde information and epigrams. The retelling of The Little Prince left me in tears at the end

Excellent show by 2 performers portraying and showing us Wilde's unusual life.. sometimes in the guise of an academician lecturing, sometimes in dramatic portrayal. Very engaging and a great reminder of the viscititudes of a public life.. at any point in history. 5 stars from me (plus some tears).

A brief history of Oscar Wilde with two well versed actors, it turns out he was an interesting character.
