Description
For his entire life, performer Mark Vigeant did everything he possibly could to make everyone around him happy. The moment he decides to change gears and focus on himself, a freak accident kills him onstage. After being sent directly to hell, Mark is given one chance to convince his 12-year old self not to be a people-pleaser. The only problem? Mark hates that fat stupid idiot. A high-energy, deeply personal, extremely silly exploration of people-pleasing.Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. I loved this! This show was a breath of fresh air and very uplifting - Mark tells a very personal and deeply relatable tale of self-acceptance and embracing your inner weirdness, and he plays off the crowd very well. Expect tons of surprising jokes, silly bits, and manic energy!

Been meaning to write this review since first seeing Mark’s brilliantly hilarious show on the first day of the fringe. Perfectly structured, exuberantly performed, I have not seen any performer commit as hard to their performance as Mark. The ending is perfect. The framing device is great. And there is one particular scene that made me laugh harder than anything else I’ve seen at the festival so far. Mark Pleases You definitely delivers on that exact promise.

If you came to Fringe, this is the kind of show you're here for. Mark Vigeant is an astoundingly talented performer... hilarious and unafraid. The show is about Mark's lifelong tendency to please other people at the expense of his own desires. Lucky for us, he doesn't learn that lesson until the end of the show, so we get to spend an hour being thoroughly pleased by someone with decades of practice.
