Description
This MacBeth isn’t your normal Macbeth. Have you ever wanted to see a Bee Gees song in a Shakespearean play? Ross as a multi-talented sprint runner? A beautiful dance number? The energy to be skyrocketed like kids after candy? The Bathway Theatre Company presents an adaptation of the new and improved, MacBeth. This tragicomic play explores how human greed and lust for power can ultimately lead to one's downfall. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. It was a mess of a show sadly, wasn’t clear to the audience or more telling the cast whether this was being played for laughs or a drama.

Lacking direction with script and development this was a shame as the show hinges mostly on the strength of performance of MacBeth - Aster Scrivens-Blackler - who carries all of the weight and brings some quality into the performance

This show didn't really know what it was trying to be: a comedy, a serious performance, in the original language or modern? A lot of the comic parts fell flat due to poor scripting or delivery. The saving grace was that the actor playing Macbeth was actually quite good, although they could have stood to look at the audience occasionally. 1 star.
