Description

This 'sure to sell out act' (NOW Magazine) has four veteran performers with over 60 years combined comedy experience. Alastair Forbes, Ashley Comeau, Karen Parker and Connor Thompson are alumni of The Second City (the same comedy institution that birthed Tina Fey and Steve Carell). Equal parts emotional, wordy, and physical, The Lusty Mannequins deliver a 60-minute mischief-filled ride. 'Lots of smart comedy with an impeccable sense of drama and surprise' (NOW Magazine). Think Dylan Thomas throwing a cocktail party and Helena Bonham Carter, Kristen Wiig and Mr Bean showing up.

An hour of hilarity, clever writing, and fantastic acting. As a long-time theatre producer, I'm impressed with the attention to detail that brings every sketch alive and makes each one convincing. The actors handily switch characters and instantly engage their audience in each routine. But with veteran Second City performers, that's the result. Get your ticket now!

This was an absolute blast from start to finish. Our final show at the fringe and a great way to bow out, topical and witty with some slick timing and genuine infectious enjoyment from all the cast. Highly recommended.

So what a joy this was. Sharp, witty and perfectly timed. From start to finish it was strong. Some very funny sketches indeed. Recommended to us and we pass the recommendation on. A high point of our visit to the Fringe.

This was great! Hilarious, intelligent, inventive comedy perfectly timed and delivered! Clever, punchy and relevant performed by a team who clearly love what they are doing! Don't miss it!

Saw this today after seeing the troupe perform a sketch at a free show earlier - and so glad we did!
1 hour of prime sketch comedy delivered by four very seasoned practitioners - thank you so much for bringing this excellent show to Edinburgh ***** at least!

Sketch shows are plentiful at the Fringe but not all have equally impressive performances *and* quality writing. The Lusty Mannequins deliver equally in both disciplines with an apparent ease that I suspect is only achieved after a great deal of thought, experience and rehearsal.

The writing is a wonderful mixture of funny yet thoughtful commentary on today’s issues, and absurdist belly laugh sketches in the finest traditions of Not The Nine o’clock News etc. –

A professional production involving musical queues, lighting effects and some costumes the likes of which I haven’t seen this side of my stranger cheese fueled dreams.

Highly recommended.

Saw a (unorthodox rage therapy) sketch at a sketch swap show in the morning ... Had to see the rest of the show. Absolutely fantastic show. Lots of highly original sketches that linked beautifully. Very slick.

It’s clear these guys have worked together for a while. It shows in their timing together! In the best possible way. This was just a great fun and perfectly paced sketch show. Loads of belly laughs! Clever sketches. Check them out you’ll be happy about it!
