Description

The Life of Hokusai: a freak or a great artist? This work takes you on a non-verbal journey that depicts the anguished inner life of Hokusai through dance, Japanese traditional instruments and original Hokusai artwork projections. His paintings were eccentric and delicate, influencing artists worldwide. But actually, he accomplished those feats by going through a number of great difficulties and moving forward. Feel it through this performance, knowing his anguish in life makes his paintings even more lively. This staging was created as a performing arts production commemorating the 260th anniversary of the birth of Hokusai.
