Like the Fall (the group, not the season), Lewis Schaffer is always the same, always different. Like a Fall gig, it's unpredictable, you never know what's going to happen until the gig. The show I saw was classic Schaffer- sometimes hilarious, sometimes though provoking, sometimes emotional, sometimes challenging, sometimes none of these. If you want to see a legendary comedian, at the top of his game, then go and see this- you won't regret it.

I went for that classic Newyork club act style, I wasn't disappointed. Its an interesting show and clear he believes in what he's saying/preaching. I enjoyed it.

A lot of comics put across an image of being edgy. With this man, it’s not an image. That’s why people walk out. And they’re probably right to walk out. He’s not for everyone. If you want to see someone who has absolutely no chance of being on ‘Live At The Apollo’ , but is driven to explore, examine, confront, and comment on the world (mainly his world), then check him out. To be honest, I’m not sure how much I like him, but I do know that for me watching him do what he does, was like watching Patti Smith sing live, or Dennis Bergkamp score a Dennis Bergkamp goal. An amazingly, vital, vivid experience. And if you do hate him, you can always walk out - it’s just the same as walking in, you just head in the opposite direction.

Walked out after 10 mins, a drunk guy at the front was funnier than him! Boiling venue and cramped.

I have walked out of a fair few shows and this is one I wish I had. The man spouts dangerous "medical" advice, fails to be humorous in the process and excels at being chauvinistic as well.
