Christopher Biggins is a likeable and engaging chap who is verging on national treasure status. He has had a varied and interesting career which is fertile ground for a one-man show full of showbiz anecdotes, personal reminiscences and indiscrete gossip. Unfortunately, this is not that show. Late Lunch is a pot-luck chat show in which Christopher Biggins provides only ten minutes of interesting stories, followed by 50 minutes in which he proves that charm and likability are not really enough to make him a good interviewer. The extent to which you enjoy this show will depend as much on the random guests as it will on Biggins. But no matter how good the interviewees are, you’ll be left wishing it had just been the genial Mr Biggins all along. Maybe next year?

How can you not love Biggins? He is very entertaining. He may not be the best interviewer but he is so amiable the audience and guests want to love him. A one man show would have been better but nevertheless this is an entertaining hour.

Had a great time at this show, Biggins was very funny and friendly, great venue, easy access and very good value for money. Biggins mixed with the audience in the bar afterwards and was very happy to pose for pictures and answer questions. I would highly recommend this as a must see show for 2019.

Late Lunch With Biggins provides a lot of laughs and offers the best of the Fringe’s performers, thus helping you to navigate your way round this gargantuan festival (and don’t we need that!).

And remember, you won’t know who you’ll be seeing, so it’s always going to be… Surprise Surprise!
