Description
Multi award-winning Kiwi/Canadian/Jewish comedienne, Deb Filler, goes on a hilarious musical quest meeting 'The Three Lennys', even singing The Beatles in Yiddish! We're transfixed by a masterful tour de force of (mostly) true storytelling. With only a guitar and a raft of lovable characters, this jam-packed, deeply humorous show is a love-story to Yiddish, music and mentors, whose empowering influence will linger long after curtain down. Directed by Sarah-Louise Young (An Evening Without Kate Bush), it's 'enchantingly intimate, filled with gusto, charm, brilliance, talent and chutzpah. To miss her would be madness!' We loved Deb Filler’s show Kravitz, Cohen, Bernstein, and Me. She is a very talented singer and story-teller, transporting you through her life story with spellbinding experiences beautifully illustrated through song, music, humour and photographs, poignantly reflecting on Jewish refugee and Yiddish culture and experience. Four stars !!!!

A wonderful show with Deb Filler's encounters with the 3 Lennys (Cohen and Bernstein were particularly jaw dropping for me). Great use of storytelling, music and humour. In many ways this is a story about family and made me think of my own Lenny connections (although not in person or colour). I particularly liked the 1960-70s Auckland driving instructions AND Beatles/stones songs sung in Yiddish - very clever, warm hearted and fun!

After 40 minutes of this show, there was no mention of any ‘Lennys’.
This was a mis representation of the 1hr10mins advertised of this gig.
As a Lenny Kravitz and Leonard Cohen fan I was extremely disappointed.
Better ways to spend an hour at the festival.

Such a feel good show!!! Deb is a fantastic storyteller!! it's more about the deep love of family and respect for tradition than the "Lennys" but it is indeed, a clever way to bring it all together. One of my favourites this Fringe. Go, you'll enjoy yourself.

Kravitz, Cohen, Bernstein and me is the most beautiful, hilarious, thoughtful, moving show at the Fringe this year for me, my partner and my daughter! We spent some of our time on the floor laughing and weeping - one of the best Fringe experiences ever.
On every level, the sublime masterful story teller Deb Filler inspires with her wonderful story telling, insight, sheer comedic genius and effortless warmth! Some shows leave you entirely grateful to be alive today and this is the best of them all. Fill up your hearts and minds and souls with Kravitz, Cohen, Bernstein and the magnificent Deb Filler.

70 year old Kiwi/Canadian/Jewish comedian & singer Deb Filler has had an eventful life and chooses to tell us about the three ‘Lennies’ - Leonard Bernstein, Leonard Cohen, and Lennie Kravitz that she has met at various times, sprinkled with some songs. An enjoyable hour.

I absolutely loved this show . The time flew by as I joined Deb on her journey through her family life and her meetings with the three Lenny's . I was slightly tempted to dash off and learn Yiddish but being a Liverpudlian I'm still trying to master English . But I'm sure this performer could master anything . A superb talent, a naturally warm storyteller and a provider of smiles . See it .

Kravitz, Cohen, Bernstein and Me has been described as a 'warm hug of a show'. The show is more than that as It chronicles a family's history - Deb Filler's family. Deb Filler guides us with music, comedy and Yiddish through her madcap life to reveal how she met the 'Three Lennys' and how they changed her.
Filler is a storyteller extraordinaire. You come out of the show wishing you were Filler's best friend. You come out of the show wishing that you knew her family. You come out of the show with love in your heart. This show may be small in scale but is huge on meaning, music and Yiddish.
Go see K, C, L and Me as you will feel better about life. 4 ****
