Description

Take a chill pill! Stay calm! Relax! I know, the exclamation marks aren't helping! Over the last two years, Jacob somehow predicted the pandemic in his 2019 show, got hitched and watched the world crumble. This is his guide to relaxation whilst everything falls apart. A silly, sharp and uplifting comedy hour that mixes spiky stand-up, soundscapes and guided meditation from a profoundly unrelaxed man. 'Attuned to the human psyche' **** (BroadwayBaby.com). 'Endorphin-milking titterfest' **** (MumbleComedy.net). 'Very Silly' (ThreeWeeks). 'Very funny' (John Kearns). As heard on BBC Radio 4.

Excellent comedy here! Jacob packed a lot into this show with some great 90s nostalgia which I particularly liked. Jacobs stagecraft and confidence added some extra va va voom to some well written jokes. 5*/5* go see it!

Some great gags in this set. Great delivery and some good gag writing at time. Loved the part about working from home. I actually spluttered my drink during the part about his wife and the sex. Hot stuff

Great fun and very funny. Covers a range of topics and has some clever use of audio. Highly recommend!

Last saw Jacob at the 2018 Fringe, and was interested in how he had developed since. I was certainly not disappointed! In front of a packed audience he delivered an energetic performance that was topical, quick witted and just the right side of being completely irreverent to his subject matter themes. I particularly liked his use of prerecorded voice to have a conversation with his own subconscious. Well worth a punt!

A deep dive into one man’s uphill struggle to relax (with guest appearances from his subconscious). Relatable experiences, laugh out loud jokes, and pushing topics juuust far enough - there really is something for everyone and the audience members of all ages were having a great time! A more professional delivery than some of the fixed price, big venue stand up I’ve seen this year. Well worth taking a chance on!

What a gem of a find! Jacob Hatton’s ‘Relax!’ was well worth going off the beaten track for - goes to show that there is so much more to the Fringe than simply following the bulk of the crowds into the bigger ticketed venues. This show was fantastic - full of quality, relatable content, gags a plenty and some hilariously bang on depictions of what it is to navigate life and love in the not very relaxing times we live in today. Don’t miss it!

From one Jacob to another lol, I took a risk and a flyer and it certainly paid off! Loads of great gags and something for everyone. Just as good as any of the big booked shows at paid venues. Take a risk yourself!

… plenty of great gags, a beautifully worked interior monologue during ‘meditation,’ and some social comedy
