Description

Join comedy cabaret superstar Miss Hope Springs at the piano, presenting original musical numbers from her vintage repertoire of toe-tapping show tunes, finger-snapping pop and heart-rending ballads, interspersed with scandalous stories from her 'Ritz-to-the-pits' showbiz life in LA, Paris and... Dungeness! Still in the sequins she fled the Pink Pelican Casino wearing in 1972, let Hope (once the toast of Vegas, now down on her luck and heavily medicated) take you on a trip down 'mammary lane' in this 'smash hit laugh-out-loud-move-you to-tears show' (BroadwayWorld.com). Nominated for Best Cabaret in the Broadway World Edinburgh Fringe Awards.

The show is the descendant of music hall and old style Las Vegas camp rather than anything associated with the current drag scene, and it’s all the better for it. [...] Cabaret at its finest.

I found Welcome to the Carnival to be a very moving piece that brought a real humanity to the character and her story but the other songs were cleverly comedic. A truly pleasant way to spend an evening.

It’s not just the songs that impress. She’s crafted a beautiful story through a mix of old-time favourite Hope songs, and new material, woven with witty one-liners. She shines at the piano under just the spotlight. She has a captivating face that intrigues any audience as she plays, sings and acts her material just perfectly.

Miss Hope was delicious; recounting tales from her illustrious career in prose and song. along the way she held the audience perfectly with her professionalism and camp humor, resulting in a standing ovation from her delighted audience. A Well Deserved 5 Stars.

I last saw Miss Hope Springs when she treaded the Boards above the Playhouse in 2014. The authentic elegance is very unique. Not so much a drag queen, but a female impersonator who knows her craft. She’s a natural performer who knows how to take command of an audience –...

Drag superstar Miss Hope Springs presents glorious old school camp rich in faux-Hollywood nostalgia alongside playful original musical numbers in her Edinburgh Festival Fringe venture, It’s Miss Hope Springs.

Former-showgirl Miss Hope Springs (Ty Jeffries) delivers a mix of witty anecdote, musical number and audience interaction as she performs a triumphant piano set at Starlight Lounge (Assembly Festival's Bijou). Dipping into her rags to riches Hollywood story with many a playful wink at the audience, the performer powers through a set filled with nostalgic original song and story. There is something delightfully old-school and playful about this hour-long set which is bound to be a treat with audiences.

When Miss Hope Springs is in the room you know it! She tells entertaining stories through song and anecdotes with flair, self-deprecating humour and delusions of grandeur. A statuesque presence in a black sequined and voluminous faux ostrich feather couture costume, big blonde hairdo and endearing larger than life personality she...

The Wee Review (3/5 stars) 102 days ago

A small, compact audience in a not so ‘Bijou’ space is the setting for Ty Jeffries to unleash his alter-ego character, Miss Hope Springs, on us. Statuesque, sequin and feather-clad, with a blonde bouffant wig that would have given Marilyn Monroe a run for her money, Hope Springs looks like...
