Description

Olivier Award-nominated Wizard Presents brings Morpurgo's treasured story to life, sparking imagination in both young and old. This intimate five-star show is set in a library full of books that hold more than stories within their pages. It is a tale of the power of books, and the bravery of a young boy called Tomas. Tomas hates reading and school, but his world is turned upside down the day he meets the Unicorn Lady... 'The show is moving and memorable. I didn't like it, I loved it!' (Michael Morpurgo).

A heart warming story about the magic of books and stories. The props were amazing. My favourite was the kite and the books inside books! I would give it 10 stars if I could. Annabel Aged 10

Seraphina (9): “We loved this show, it is highly child-friendly and the lady who performed it made it come to life!”

Sam (6): “The lady made the books come to life!”

We ran to this show on a (6 year-old’s) whim, after being handed a flyer. It was magical, thoroughly engaging and so, so clever - I couldn’t have been more delighted! Absolutely worth every penny! ❤️

It's not about unicorns of course, not really...
But it is spell-binding storytelling.
This was our family's favorite show of the Fringe. Mum, Dad, 11yr old, and 8yr old all loved it. A beautifully crafted tale, told well; with just a touch of audience participation to get the kiddos engaged. Highly, highly recommend it.

A wonderful show, beautiful story telling with an array of creative props, very much enjoyed by my six year old and myself alike. 5*

Absolutely excellent spell binding show. We were told an entire story in one hour without realising we were being told a story! Very clever tricks with the books. Totally magical and compelling. Loved it and so did my 8 year old nephew.

Outstanding. Wonderfully acted, brilliant set, compelling story telling. This was one of the most interesting and enjoyable shows of the fringe. Spellbound audiences of 3 to 80. Danish Miller was fantastic.

I would definitely recommend this show to anyone. In my opinion it was five star. The way she made it come to life was magical and it was amazing how she played all the characters. It was very emotional. It makes you cry and laugh in all the right places. I really enjoyed it and I hope you will too.

Beautifully told and marvellous props and stage production. Emotive and fascinating. The deceptively simple stage set enhanced the experience. Loved it

Far exceeded my expectations - how can one person and a stack of books entertain for an hour? Absolutely magical. This is my 8yr old daughter's favourite. It will stay in our minds for a long time.

3 days of Edfringe and 8 shows later, this is still our firm fav show. A spellbinding tale so beautifully told, which captivated my 8 year old for the hour. Storytelling at its best!

Very well-staged and performed one-woman adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's play of this name. I couldn't help crying towards the end, which was both unexpectedly dark and heartwarming. My 6 yr old was entertained throughout - especially by the narrator's ever-surprising book collection.

4⭐ Wasn't sure when this first started where it was going but ultimately enjoyed the store telling telling. The production was very well done and clever. We watched with children from 5-11 whom all enjoyed it a lot, although not sure the 5 year old fully got the story. Would highly recommend.
