Description
How is anyone supposed to deal with the death of a loved one? Isaac Kean's answer is to write a "woe is me" tragicomedy. Join him as he teaches you how not to cope with whatever life throws at you, and answers the age-old question: can emotional struggle be genuine if it's just part of a comedy show? Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Isaacs show is wonderful! It is a well balanced mix of great observational comedy peppered with thoughtful comments on the reality of grief. I saw this show days ago and I still find myself laughing about it days later, especially when I spot the vending machines in toilets! Isaac impressively packs in multiple comedy genres across the hour including stand up, story telling and musical comedy. I highly recommend it!

I've seen this show twice and would see it again! Isaac Kean cleverly plays with the concept of authenticity on stage & challenges the audience to self-reflect on performance and how we capitalize on trauma. Loved the silly songs that were dropped in; they poked fun at musical comedy in a perfectly self-deprecating and self-aware way. Loved it all and was really touched to see some audience members relate to the material on grief and caregiving so deeply. Highly recommend!

Seems like a nice guy but I found the non-grief-related material to be quite predictable, the songs to be badly executed and simplistic (and not in an amusingly ironic way), and the grief-related material to be devoid of pathos and any kind of vulnerability. Tries to create a loophole by touching on how performance is inherently artificial, but what is the point of a comedy show about grief that neither makes you laugh nor cry?

Excellent show, best I’ve seen so far! Funny and audiience participation was fun. Very Fringe! Would go again. Mature beyond his age, self deprecating but also a good singer and keyboard player. Deep issues presented in a relatable format. I laughed and almost cried. Wonderful, highly recommended.
