Helen enjoys a drama. She's her mother's daughter, taking a small situation, blowing it up, then getting upset that it's out of her control. Just like all the best reality TV. At the same time, she dreams of being a sweet angel handling any drama with grace. Who doesn't overthink everything and plan for how she will have all eyes on her at the right moment. Highly anticipated debut hour from the 2018 BBC New Comedy Award Finalist. As seen and heard on BBC Three, Comedy Central and Radio 4.

We are fringe veterans and in true fringe style had just arrived in the city and entered the pleasance when we were dragged by a tout into a bunker! Laugh out loud hilarious yet moving and poignant. Helen Bauer is just loveable and brilliant . Totally hits the mark. The perfect start to our week!

See Helen Bauer NOW before she's well out of your price range! Bloody hilarious from start to finish. This is a show for anyone in their 20s, anyone who's ever been in their 20s and anyone who knows anyone in their 20s. If you're a drama queen you'll relate, if you're not, you'll understand that drama queen in your life a little bit better. Oh, it's also for anyone who's ever had a mother...

Chortle (4/5 stars) 88 days ago

Bold, brash and domineering, Helen Bauer is a force of nature who commands the stage. She’s the life and soul of the party, the centre of attention with a constant stream of quips about herself and other people. She brags she’s an absolute legend, pretending it’s tongue-in-cheek, though you have...

Helen Bauer is a natural, but not one of those serious comedians. Her voice, our laughter, reverberates around this bunker’s walls. She's keen to reassure us she's not going to give us a narrative arc or theme. A fan of popular series such as You’ve Been Framed and any video...

She is a brilliant comedian, able to hold her own and captivate an audience, whilst connecting and relating to every single person in the room. She has great stage presence and personality, not to mention able to react to the response and mood of the room as well as surprise and connect.

Nevertheless, this comedian is being marketed as 'a self-confessed attention seeker', and she really wants you to watch. The set is an inward look at all things Helen. She traverses her personal history to discover how she came to be the way she is: think of a child who didn't...

The Skinny (4/5 stars) 102 days ago

Straight off the bat, Helen Bauer relays something of a trend she’s noticed at the Fringe: the tendency for comedians to have their shows culminate in a grand, poignant message wherein they leave themselves emotionally exposed to their audience. She’s quick to let you know that this isn’t a criticism,...

Broadway Baby (4/5 stars) 104 days ago

Helen Bauer hits the Fringe hard with this compelling comedy debut which is slick, sassy and super satisfying. Bauer is preposterously self indulgent, a self confessed attention seeker on a constant quest to be looked at and be looked after by the world around her. This could be perceived as...
