Description
Part theatre, part stand-up, part PowerPoint Presentation. One lecturer desperately tries to prove a popular Grease fan theory: that Sandy drowns in the opening beach sequence and the film is her coma fantasy. Adrift in a storm of conspiracy, the lecturer drags the audience down into a postmodern world of wigs, jackets and custom animation. In this multi award-winning journey through Reddit, film and academia, Grief Lighting explores ideas of gender, pop culture and obsession, unpacking the iconic film, once and for all, with the intellectual rigor and chaotic scrutiny it righteously deserves. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Best show we’ve seen this fringe (and we’ve really gone hard!). Cried with laughter. Absolutely in awe of this brilliant performer and the attention to detail that’s gone in to this batsh*t marvel of a piece is superb. I highly recommend it. I’m still laughing this morning.

The highlight of our fringe. Entertaining, engaging, passionate, enthusiastic and oh so hilarious. The amount of work that went into the show was evident and there wasn’t a dull moment. We cried laughing. Would highly recommend.

Very funny, full of energy, hilarious PowerPoint slides and an excellent parody of an academic lecture. Wonderful and the best show we’ve seen.
