Description

Two native singer-songwriters return to the Fringe with their five-star sell-out show featuring original and traditional songs of Edinburgh and Scotland. ‘Quality voice!’ (Edinburgh Evening News). 'Nicholson's songs masquerade as funny vignettes, but there's an edge to them, like Irvine Welsh dialogue over Travis picking' (List, 2017). ‘Rock-solid quality song writing’ (Andy Lang, Leith Festival). 'Nicholson's songs are funny, often with a political edge or element of social commentary' (ThreeWeeks). 'Gore is a knock-out, his songs balance beauty with fierce rallying cries of social justice' (Fest).

In a small lounge downstairs of the Royal Oak pub. These two musicians have been friends with each other for a long time. Their styles are individually unique. They each take the stage separately for some of their own songs and a handful of traditional songs. They are local guys with feet firmly placed in Scotland. So worth seeing this show which is unique and special.

You will love this show. Excellent show from two incredibly talented musicians and singer/songwriters. Individually and as a duo their set is a mix of everything: poignant, powerful, funny, intelligent, historical and modern relevance at the same time. Fantastic original material and perfectly selected songs by others, sung in two unique solo styles with a great mix when they song as a duo. Great storytellers with engaging chat between songs as an added bonus. 10/10

Good musicians with a relaxed atmosphere in the basement of the Royal Oak. However, I felt that some of their own songs about social commentary were a bit cliched.

Good mix of original and traditional songs by local musicians.
