Combining inspirational storytelling with evocative songs of protest, Morna presents stories of courage and daring alongside the tragic realities of war. Any show with Morna in it is always worth seeing. Gies Peace is a warm, troubling yet also at times soothing and uplifting journey through women's peaceful protest and resistance. Her beautiful, rich and powerful, almost liquid vocals, travel continents and decades, the hour flies in. So many powerful, poignant and very personal stories told so kindly and respectfully. Lives shared and sheroes named and seen. Morna really honours these women.

Gies Peace - a well crafted and thoughtful journey charting women activists and peacemakers through stories and songs. Morna’s warmth, wit and wisdom is evident in the tales she tells, collected from personal encounters, shared experiences and research, underscored by both familiar and lesser known songs. The show concludes with a group singalong leaving the audience with a warm hearted glow and feeling of hope.

A very pleasant hour listening to the stories and the songs. Not very optimistic, but it’s good to listen to these stories of resistance

Presented with elegance and poise in a quintessentially Scottish manner.
The stories of female activism against war and violence were compelling.
I couldn't bring myself to join in the final hurrah.
Although the stories celebrated past victories over dark forces, I fear the challenge against newer and even darker forces will not be so easily 'overcome'.
