Description

The 1930's star tells her own story in her own words. A theatrical cabaret. Funny, pacy dialogue which is bursting with songs from Variety and Revue to hits by Noe¨l Coward and Kurt Weill. Directed by Sarah-Louise Young (An Evening Without Kate Bush and Julie Madly Deeply). Written and performed by Lucy Stevens with pianist Elizabeth Marcus. "From music hall to sophisticated cabaret and show songs... a stunning voice, the achingly beautiful ballads had the audience spellbound." Stamford Arts Theatre

Everybody knows Noël Coward, Lawrence Olivier and the musical The King and I, with the song "Shall we dance". - But why do we not know Gertrude Lawrence?
Get to know her, enjoy her songs and feel her joys and sorrows, see her come alive in the show.
A truely lovely way to spend an evening. LOVED IT.

A truly fascinating and colourful life story, told with passion, humour and not a little drama. I loved it.
