Description

Remember when you were allowed to say anything you liked and got no trouble for it? Me neither. These days though, a lot of people paint a picture postcard in their own heads of a tolerant British past that they seem desperate to go back to. Gavin Webster, himself a fifty-something man, pours scorn on the revisionists, the libertarians, the Media Studies post-grads and the silly billies on Channel 5 documentaries who tell you about modern history and how it compares today. ‘Tough talking no nonsense Geordie wit’ (Times).
