Description

Aspiring supervillain Ice Cold stumbles across a prophecy that reveals a top-secret mind control signal. The catch? It’s powered by cheesy music and 60 tonnes of Edam cheese. Meanwhile, Channing Merchandise, Ice’s longstanding rival, may have found the secret to teleportation that is powered by the same signal… Comical chaos ensues as cheesy mind control, music and teleportation collide. The way out? Karaoke in a disused wig factory… on the moon! Freedam is a wonderfully cheesy new comedy that is fun for all the family. Nutritional note: This show contains no actual cheese (but several cheesy puns).

Really fabulous kids show. Performing nonsense with complete commitment and not hamming it up is a real skill. CBBC are poorer for not having these really talented performers on their books but their loss is very much our gain. 5 stars from this cheese loving family. Don't question the laws of cheese physics and go and see their final show

A whimsical and surreal 50 minutes of fun, silliness and laughter! The talented cast looked to be having a great time and their enthusiasm was infectious. Expect cheesy puns galore, karaoke, wigs and very funny characterisations (especially Eva Lafontan as Channing Merchandise). Riotously entertaining, with bags of charm, this show and cast are the brie's knees!

Such a light-hearted and lovable show. The actors from LS6 have fabulous synergy. A Balamory meets Nina and the Neurones on the costume front with cheesy fun for kids and adults alike. Such great acting from all the cast made this well-written show a delight to see . Don’t leave Fringe without seeing it!

Every member of the cast truly put on a great performance in this punny musical. Excellent amateur theatre, with some very promising young talents.

Really silly bit of fun - some great talent in the cast who really need to be kids TV presenters! The puns made everyone chuckle.

Having just watched (the superb) Doll, we stayed at Venue 36 on North Bridge for something completely different and Freedam certainly ticked that box. A delightful, deliberately very cheesy, energetic show delivering the laughs for both adults and kids alike. A family show with goodies, baddies, world domination, a volcano and a cow, Luke Haywood's writing is quick, farcical and full of puns. The four actors are all brilliant in their own right and their physical acting is superb. Who doesn't enjoy a good cheesy pun? Don't miss this!

Took my kids to see this last week and wasn’t sure what to expect but am pleased to say all of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Although aimed at kids it definitely isn’t a show just for kids - plenty of jokes to keep my husband and I chuckling away throughout while the kids were in awe of the colourful costumes and silly dancing. A hidden gem of the Fringe and definitely one I would recommend to audiences of all ages - especially since good family theatre has been hard to find this year in Edinburgh!

It was an incredibly funny show for everyone and anyone. Doesn’t matter what age there are jokes we can all laugh at very gripping story and the time flies by. 10/10 show - you should definitely go and see it

An excellently cheesy little number in the heart of the fringe. Definitely one for the kids, loved Hearing their excited voices and comments throughout. So cute! However definitely can be enjoyed by adults, like us, to!
Ava - what a great performance, so fantastic at performing for children, delectable energy and the multi rolling was spot on!!
Hannah- what a costume! The evil character turned good, the lab coat gave us Dr Doifenshmirtz and the performance gave us JOY!
Ejiro- an absolutely fabulous performance; a ball of energy on the stage with some funny one liners.
Spike- gave us the silly energy we needed for this cartoon come to life!!! what an absolute joy to watch
Well done to all involved!

If I hadn't gone to the loo before I would have wet myself!
A hilarious, silly and all round fun show! The actors command the stage entirely, the little bits of audience engagement peppered throughout the show are a real treat. The costumes are impeccable and suit each character perfectly from the minions through to the supervillains. A superbly funny and engaging show would 100% reccomend this for audiences of all ages, from kids to adults!
I shall be seeing this again.
