Description

Talented flute and piano duo Leila Marshall and Ailsa Aitkenhead return to the fringe for an afternoon concert of varied repertoire. The pair began collaborating during their respective studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland – where Ailsa was awarded the Alex Menzies Prize for outstanding accompanist. A previous winner of the Edinburgh Competition Festival concerto prize, Leila went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music. They present a programme of music from Poulenc’s much loved Sonata for flute and Piano to Messiaen's dark and intriguing Le Merle Noir.
