Description

Join talented duo Leila Marshall and Ailsa Aitkenhead for an evening recital of lyrical and rousing works for flute and piano. The pair began collaborating whilst studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland – where Ailsa was awarded the Alex Menzies Prize for outstanding accompanist. A previous winner of the Edinburgh Competition Festival concerto prize, Leila went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music. They present a varied program of music that transitions from darkness to light. Featured works include Handel’s Flute Sonata in A minor and Taktakishvili’s sunny, folk-inspired Sonata.
