Description

Award-winning flamenco guitarist and composer Daniel Martinez presents a beautifully intimate flamenco guitar concert. Cordoba-born Daniel moved to Scotland in 2015 having worked in some of Cordoba's best tablaos and completed 14 years of study in Cordoba's Royal Conservatoire. In 2017, Daniel founded his company and has been touring with his production Art of Believing, which won the Herald Angel award during the 2019 Edinburgh festival. Joined by fantastic flamenco singer Danielo Olivera, the audience will enjoy a truly authentic flamenco concert. A must for music lovers. Emotive, exciting, moving and technically brilliant, don't miss it!

The range of technique on display was fantastic and this smaller venue enables those skills to be displayed close, you can hear every fret stroke and foot tap. Highly recommended if you already know Daniel’s work or if you wish to get an introduction to flamenco.

What really made this show for me though was not just listening to Daniel play his own compositions and music by some of his own Flamenco heroes, it was watching the obvious pleasure that he was getting from playing all of this music, the love that he so obviously has for not only Flamenco music, but its history in all of its many different forms.
