Description

Pluto and Vector have been dating for almost a year now, but as they hike up the mountain where the Greek god Prometheus was bound as punishment, their relationship hits its breaking point. The myth of Prometheus looms large over the mountain’s cold peak as Pluto and Vector confront their differences, their fears about their partnership and the events that brought them together in the first place. The play is an examination of queer love and queer existence; it vacillates between the mythic and the deeply personal.

This show was the best of all the shows I've seen at the Fringe. It was a very moving story with two great actors. I was lucky enough to catch the last performance. Hope to be able to see more from this producer and these actors.

Mesmerising play - superb acting and writing, hitting all the right notes. We were lucky to catch this show on its last day at the Fringe. Will be looking out for these talented young folks in the future!

The Fire at the Edge of the Earth is a fantastic Edinburgh debut for this creative team. Zack Rocklin-Waltch, Michael MacLeod, Audrey Forman, and Wendy Hui (all of whom are imminent or recent college graduates) have made something special about masculinity, queerness, and the mythology of love. Heartwarming and full of banter -- check this play out before it's too late!

A touching, thoughtfully written piece, The Fire at the Edge of the Earth artfully mixes story and myth to explore love for oneself and others.

Performed playfully, and specifically, I was with the characters the whole journey.

Incredibly thoughtful writing with a strong narrative and well placed humour throughout. The compelling and heartwarming acting and directing makes complex themes accessible to a wide audience. Excited to see what they do next!

Poignant, hilarious, and beautifully paced. A two-hander that consistently engages the audience with clever, fast-paced dialogue; a nuanced and authentically-depicted queer relationship; well-choreographed lighting changes and inventive use of masks. See this show!

Very sweet, a love story with a classical twist.

Unbelievably moving. In just 1 hour this performance packs in so many themes about the human condition. A universal portrayal of the challenges of loving, living, needing, and moving forward as conscious, feeling beings. I will not forget this story and these performances. Bravo Zack & Michael !!

Lovely lovely play about many different and intersecting problems/issues, both on an individual and a societal level. The writing was beautiful, both the characters and the situations they've found themselves in were highly relatable; I definitely teared up several times. If you have a free morning I highly recommend!!

A must see two hander, performed by fringe first timers. The play explores a range of old and new theories and beliefs, cleverly woven into a tale of modern day relationships that we can all relate to and may get you thinking about your own relationships. The production is cleverly directed, with moments that will touch you and make you cry, accompanied by some laugh out loud one liners. Two very talented actors and a talented production team. New up and coming talent at it's very best. A must see .

The best show I’ve seen at the Fringe this year! This show was so moving and deep; it really broughy something new out of the myth of Prometheus for me. Can’t wait to go again!

A two hand show, with good and interesting exploration of profound ideas - so listen carefully to the web of stores being told. Excellent direction, and equally well written scriot. Two actors exploring a modern topic with roots in ancient or pre history times...just how hetronormative is society and what can be done about this way of thinking for us humans, when the alternative is to behave like goldfish...content in the bowl of life or are we? See this play and then examine your own expectations...you may learn some good tips on moving forward

The Fire at the Edge of the Earth is a two hander, and is driven entirely by the dialogue Vector and Pluto. Their back-and-forth is almost reminiscent of the grand dialectic of Ancient Greece, as they search for answers to some of the most unknowable questions.
