Description

Performed outdoors in a cemetery, Lisa Nelson brings her unique story together with that of Lyda Conley: the first indigenous woman attorney in the US. Based on true events in Kansas City (circa 1906), when suddenly a decades-old treaty between the US government and the Wyandot Nation is no more, Lyda, armed with the law and a gun, engages in a remarkable battle alongside her sisters to save her family's sacred burial ground. She'll dig in her heels to fight against tribal leadership, the US government, and the erasure of a people.
