An exciting, colourful show from Burkina Faso bursting with the traditional dance and music of the Madinka people of West Africa, the descendants of the 13th-century Mali Empire. With traditional, authentic instruments and traditional costumes, the dancers whirl through dynamic, spirited, exuberant arm, foot-stomping and hip-gyrating body movements driven on by the powerful and rhythmic drums. Traditionally, Mandinka is an oral society where mythologies, history and knowledge are verbally transmitted from generation to generation. So it is with dances... The Little Queens, All In Circles, The Lovers Under The Ash Trees. Yes! This is Farafina, the show!
