Description
Seven years after the bloody coup for the throne, the kingdom of Mycenae holds its breath as the new queen and her lover enslave Agamemnon's remaining children as captives: among them, his youngest daughter Electra, who has called on her brother to swear revenge for her father. But doubt hangs thick in the air; time is running out. The House of Atreus is cursed; the gods have set the stage for its fall. One house, one family, one day. What does it take to reveal the brutal limits of human vengeance? Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. A truly perfect script. Hits the fine balance between poetry and action, classical and contemporary, emotion and logic.
Backed up by intelligent, committed performances, too. This deserves to be seen!

This isn't a 5 star performance. It's a 7 star one. One for each of the brilliant cast members. I'm a bit of an uncultured swine who thinks the Fast and Furious franchise is great. But I can still recognise tremendous acting ability and this group displayed that in abundance. If you want to be mesmerised by actors who bring history to life then you must see this. It's hard to single out one solid performance as each and every one of them brought their A game. But Emily as Tisiphone is a commanding stage presence who exudes emotion. Vin Diesel can keep his fury because the only Furies I want to see more of are right here.

Much praise for the actor playing Clytemnestra: she brought so clearly onto stage the tragedy of that indelible queen and mother.
