Description

The Early Word. The word on the elephant in the rhubarb, the word on the horse on the golf course, the word on the snail (shell), the word on my father's ship which helped him to sail through big adversity: soutenu – upheld. There is little French in the show, but there are all of Mister Galimore's rules for the marking of your neighbour's French vocabulary test. And the word in response to a first attempt at engaging someone in a dance at the school discoteque. Two, in fact: 'not you'. Folk and creatures. 'Delightfully inventive' (Observer).

A wonderful hour of poetry, music, humour and fun. I had so much fun and was able to be completely lost in the stories told. A lovely way to start the day and absolutely recommended to everyone.

A wonderful poetry show for all ages. It’s a treat to sit in a tiny venue with such a masterful writer and performer. If you like words, like to look beneath the surface of everyday things and have a sense of humour, you will love it.

I can imagine Mr Hegley’s poetry workshops being the most fun thing a school does in the entire year. This is a show definitely worth getting out of bed for.
