Description
Six strangers. One funeral. A million-dollar inheritance at stake. Leaving no grave stone unturned, how far will they go to get their final favour from a "dead" man? We all want to know what people will say about us when we die. William Bebach doesn't want to guess; he wants to know. Planning his rehearsal funeral, Mr Bebach thought uniting the ghosts from the past was a good idea. But sometimes it's best to take things to your grave. Returning after a sold-out Fringe run, Woodplayers Troupe are putting the fun in funeral with this new dark comedy. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Drop Dead (***)
This farce has six people gathered together for a practice funeral while the “dead” man lies sleeping in the coffin. While this show has the elements of a farce, including greedy characters, a cramped bathroom scene and a misconstrued “kiss”, it never seemed to gel for me—too many things didn’t make any sense. However, the rest of the audience loved it, and laughed at the high jinks throughout it.
This is the 43rd most enjoyable of the 84 shows I have seen so far at the Fringe this year. I hope to see almost 200. You may see my other three-sentence reviews, in order from most enjoyable to worst, at my non-commercial website: https://fringefan.com/

There was an announcement at the beginning that due to illness/injury cast members had been swapped out etc. No idea why they needed to tell us this as you wouldn't have noticed as the acting was pretty flawless. Each scene had some comedy moments and all the cast were excellent but the story didn't really come together and just seemed a mish mash of scenes. the ending was good though. I'd say go for the acting rather than the story
