Description

Show of the Week Winner VAULT Festival 2023. We all feel underappreciated at work, and Death is no exception. Death (personified) puts a lot of work into the way we die, and never gets the credit he deserves. Across an hour, Death takes us through the artistry involved in ensuring that each and every one of us meets our maker. This musical black-comedy shows the lighter side of the inevitable. Death Suits You features an original book, lyrics and score by Sam Hooper and Robert Tripolino. Directed by Gabrielle Scawthorn.

Great concept and so brilliantly done! The humour was deliciously dark and the choreography/singing was masterful! (how he did all that in a suit I will never get over lol) Every element of the show from tech to props/set was just incredible too - shoutout to whoever designed those file boxes, I had a proper giggle at those!

After finishing this show, I got so annoyed that there were empty seats in the theatre.

It was an amazing one man show. Brilliant plot. Brilliant concept. Expertly performed.

This show is a beautiful dark comedy and a fringe must see.

Also..... if it affects your choice, this venue has the comfiest seats.

Really enjoyed this one. Hooper is crazy talented. It’s a marathon of a show for him, including song, dance, monologue, and even rap. Makes you feel a gamut of emotions. Highly, highly recommend.

Really talented piece of work that has clearly had a lot of planning and practice to perform!

Riveting monologue from Death personified who is concerned their work is not fully appreciated, punctuated with entertaining dance and musical numbers. A great watch.

The absolute best thing I’ve seen at the fringe in years! So cleverly written, wry and witty whilst also being incredibly engaging. A truly talented performer and a perfect representation of what the fringe is all about - twists and turns with emotional range that keeps you desperate for just one more death! A must see.

5* Show.
True talent on stage. It took many twisting surprises. I loved the dark humour and how they had weaved both song and dance into such an interesting concept. Please add this show to your fringe line up.

One man show with accompanying musician. Sam Hooper plays Death, with a brilliant commanding stage presence. He tells how he has always orchestrated death, and always will, including our own.He narrates, dances and sings through his account, elaborating the details of individual deaths he has planned. This morbid and macabre theme has a very well written script, excellently interpreted. It is surprisingly very funny and keeps up audience interest throughout. Highly recommended.5*
