Comedy (stand-up)

Description

Following a short run at The London Palladium I return to the Fringe for the 10th time. (Hopefully) the title speaks for itself, but don't just take my word for it. As one audience review said last year: 'Hilarious. Pro. Why haven't I heard of him before? Sort it out'. That’s me told. We’d best get to work! Winner of the Amused Moose Peoples Champion Award for Best Show At The Fringe in 2013. 'The whole room is laughing' **** (Fest).

It was never the matter of whether Danny has got talent or not. He's got plenty. Danny, a veteran of UK comedy circle, is known for his sharp writing skils, keen eye for the observations, and his trademark snappy delivery. He's got a unique angle too. He always were and always will be. But this show is brilliant, because it manages to take a peek behind the curtai,n and let us enjoy some insights of the enterntainment industry. It's personal, and touching, and, becuaser we watch so much televiwioun, everyone can relae Dn's When i asked Danny, "why does he keep coming to ed year after year?" He gave the only ansver the real artist should have, "Because i love it." And this is really the point of Danny's got talent--the counterposition of the life of a working comedian, toiling day to day to bring people some joy, and the souless machine that makes people's lifes miserable. It is not a sob stroy; it is a hymn to life, love, and laughter. Go see it for yourself. and stop watching that TV garbage!

Very disappointing, we came for comedy, not some random guy's life story! His jokes are lacking in actual comedy and his way of presenting just wasn't funny.

So funny, and with a really tough crowd too! I don’t know why everyone was so quiet, I was laughing my head off from beginning to end. He made such a little go a very long way and honestly nothing I could say would do justice to his talent. Danny's got Talent!!

We booked at short notice and were delighted to find such a good comedy show. Dan is an experienced comedian - he has been coming here for years. But he has had a very interesting and entertaining year! Good observational comedy from a really likeable guy. Highly recommended.

For an indication of how much stand-up has changed in the 20 years since Danny Ward first tried, and failed, to become a comic, compare the opening gag he shares from a Jim Davidson joke book, to his own, hilarious sub-conscious, captured on an app that records him sleeping.  ...
