Description
Pasty-white, loved a round of golf and a bevy, locked in a bitter dispute between Catholics and Protestants, had an adorable wee Skye Terrier dog, married three times, implicated in the murder of one husband, spent most of her adult life in prison and murdered by a family member... Mary Queen of Scots might just be the most Scottish person who ever existed! Comedian and historian Daniel Downie, creator of the acclaimed Mountebank History of Scotland series, explores the life of one of Scotland's most fascinating and debated figures. 'F*cking brilliant' (Kate Copsick, Scotsman). Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Superb packed out show, which made me cry with laughter from start to finish. Daniel is a master at bringing the past to life, comparing the actions of contemporary famous people with those of the past. So funny, and boy does he know his subject and his dates!

Watched the show yesterday. Spent the entire time laughing. Daniel was absolutely hilarious. As an American married to a Brit, explaining Mary Queen of Scot's history using current events was spot on. Do not miss this show if you are looking for comedy and humor (or humour).

Saw the show today (Tuesday 9th). Absolutely brilliant show. He tells a potted history of Mary Queen of Scots using present day characters/ celebrities to illustrate events from “Mary’s time”. So cleverly written and extremely funny.
First saw Daniel at last year’s Fringe and decided we wanted to see him again. Brilliant. Highly recommended!
