Description

Introducing sloth, the debut stand-up show from Cambridge Footlight and all-round privileged white male Dan AG. It's a show that's at times endearing, heartfelt, concerning and always, well, funny. Covering humanity, mortality and the unending difficulty of eating meringues, sloth is sure to be the first in a long line of shows from this comedian 'with an arsenal of comic devices unrivalled in the Cambridge comedy scene' (Varsity.co.uk). 'As a show it is a triumph, as a debut it is extraordinary' (Exepose.com). 'Perfectly engineered to elicit as much laughter as humanly possible' ***** (Varsity.co.uk). ***** (EdFringeReview.com).

Among the innumerable stand up comedy acts at the Fringe, Dan AG's Sloth really stands out. Dan is able to command his audience with just a raised eyebrow - and his set is truly funny, without resorting to sex or swearing (okay, maybe the odd word!). I laughed throughout and was genuinely sorry when it ended! Do go and see it, you won't be disappointed.

Very difficult to keep a straight face. Spent the whole hour laughing out loud. Wonderful show. Well deserved Chortle student finalist. Look forward to seeing him again soon.

Absolutely loved this show. Great story telling and this ‘Chortle’ finalist had us chortling from start to finish.

UK Family At The Fringe 90 days ago

Bought tickets in advance based on other reviews but I think they must have seen a different show. Dan wasn't having his best day when our family of 10 (age 14-78) went to see him. Very much aimed at a college aged audience. I personally struggled to find any of it funny and others in the group concurred that it was light on laughs. It all felt a bit awkward and I would have left if I had been on my own and not trapped at the end of a row. Sorry Dan, good luck for the future.

Amongst the plethora of stand-up available at the Fringe, including some of the biggest names in the business right now, Dan AG is the only comedian to have ever made me actually "LOL". The dynamic range of his emotional expression combined with a rollercoaster of stories and witty comments on society leave the audience completely in awe throughout as you find yourself unable to predict exactly how the next setup will turn out. Dan demonstrates an incredible sense of ease with the audience leading to interactions unlike anything I have ever seen in a comedy show before, and the speed with which he adapts to the audience atmosphere and behaviour is astonishing. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be recommending it to my friends - 5/5

Clever, well constructed, comedy that is laced with genuine wit, word-play and strong, strong comedic narrative. Dan’s talent for dramatic expression, along with his engaging story telling skills, pull upon an audience's emotions, accentuating the impact of the humour. Refreshingly (unlike many stand ups at The Fringe) Dan does not rely upon (or even use) profanities in an attempt for impact, but upon a well timed, sometimes surprising, sometimes poignant, but always funny, delivery of intelligent, material. This show really is a gem in The Fringe crown!
