Description

An unscrupulous landlord lets the same flat out to two different men: Cox who is out at work all day, and Box who is out at work all night. When Cox is unexpectedly given the day off and the two lodgers discover each other, the landlord’s scheme falls apart. But when the lodgers discover they have something in common, will they forget their quarrel? After winning the prestigious Bobby Award last year, we are excited to be bringing another of Sullivan's musical comedies, Cox and Box, in this ambitious production for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe!

Grand singing. Fun show.

With humor, excellent vocals and a live orchestra this was the perfect start to the day. The direction made the most of the limited space available and the comedy was well portrayed by the 3 actors (and the orchestra member hit by flying meat). Sullivan without Gilbert may seem unusual to some but this production, by this award winning company, is really worthy of being included with their great comic operas.

Loved it
Witty, energetic and engaging - it was beautifully sung, staged and a live "classy & quality" orchestra to boot.
A Sullivan work that was new to me - with a more farcical (yet believable) plott than those penned by WSGilbert - it was a wonderful discovery

Excellent. Perfect way to start the day. Delightful in every way. Beautifully played, sung with relish, and delivered with lovely comedic timing.

What a very well executed piece, with some superb playing and excellent voices. It's a lovely comic conceit that is well worked to its satisfying end. Early doors to catch this one - but it's very well worth it.

This was quality through and through. Beautifully played and conducted by (I think) a seven piece orchestra. Ravishingly sung by the three gentlemen on stage who also displayed their comic chops to great advantage. A comic gem of a piece. If you love Gilbert and Sullivan, singing, comedy or theatre, this is for you!

A little gem of a show! Hilarious, knowingly absurd storyline with some genuinely laugh out loud moments towards the end. Great music and tightly directed, this is 45 minutes that you will not regret.

Excellent show, great storytelling, well performed, superb singing, highly recommended.
The actors are well supported by very accomplished small orchestra, you will not be disappointed.

What a brilliant performance, incredibly talented. The story was very good, very funny and the combination of characters were great.
I love opera, I didn’t expect this to be of such a high quality
I would like to think that theses young players will follow a dream to be come actors - opera singers, they clearly enjoyed the show and they had buckets of enthusiasm
I hope other make it to see this excellent show
