Hands down the best show i experienced over my weekend in Edinburgh

We are so pleased we spontaneously went to this show. Duane Forrest is a brilliant singer/songwriter and his story is beautifully described along with his fellow performers. We loved the show! Go and see it!

On arriving in Edinburgh, my wife (also a performer) handed me Duane's flyer and said "this is the show for you". She was (as ever) not wrong.

Through a beautiful blend of songs, sounds and storytelling, as well as dance and drama, Duane and the cast transport us to a place where Bossa Nova, Jazz, Reggae and Soul speak the language of our hearts and memories. These may not be the mainstream musical genres we hear on the street these days, but I think they are secretly what many of us are enjoying on our headphones in the sun (I know I am).

The themes are so relatable and give us time and a safe space to contemplate together with Duane those "what if it had gone differently" moments in our lives, (even if we are extremely happy with the current outcome as I am).

If I've inspired you to come and see the show, I've done my job.
If Climb inspires you to love the music, love the moment, love and respect the people and do better next time, Duane and the cast have done theirs.

Saw the opening show and it was great! These guys are top musicians, and Duane and the girls have fantastic voices. If you're looking for a show that will transport you to sunnier climbs ('scuse the pun) then this sweet story will take you there.

I loved it. Duane has a gorgeous voice and proceeds from the show are going to his charity! You can tell he’s such a genuine, friendly guy and that energy totally entranced the audience from the start. All the other singers/musicians complemented each other beautifully. A lovely way to spend an afternoon

Great way to spend part of the afternoon by immersing yourself in a subtle love story - Duane's voice is so smooth and sublime. His songwriting is both moving and uplifting. Would happily have listened for longer. Perfectly complimented by his singing and acting partners. Highly recommended.

A lovely mix of music and story telling. Duane Forrest and his team have created a wonderful show with beautiful singing voices and warm personalities. Profits are intended for the charity which supports disadvantaged young people to access the arts. They deserve BIG audiences.

We saw this wonderful show today - we didn’t know what to expect - except that the music was smooth, reggae style.
It certainly hit the spot! Such a heartwarming story- told from the heart - and the music and talent of all involved was fabulous.
If you want a gentle a heartwarming ride - get to see this show. You will not be disappointed.

Saw Climb with Duane Forrest- we didn’t know what to expect . We stoped for a chat and ended up with a free ticket - wow ! He was fantastic, so talented. A beautiful soft lilting voice and fantastic guitar playing . A very ‘ Latin ‘ type music - some of it sent you into a sort of trance . It was very unexpected and totally beautiful . Thank you , Duane

It was a nice story about love and relationships that everybody can relate to. 40 min of entertaining blues/reggae music.

I saw this because I got a free preview ticket and wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy it or not.
I did. The music had great energy and was really the main part of the show and did far more than support the story. The singer/storyteller and especially his main co-star showed us the story in a way that elicited strong emotions in me without being dramatic. It was a very good way to spend the afternoon.

Musical Theatre Review (4/5 stars) 83 days ago

This is a simply sublime hour of song – Duane Forrest has brought this show from Canada. He’s charisma on legs and plays rather fine guitar. His voice is gentle and the tone so soft he creates an instant stillness and attentiveness from the audience.

In a festival where many artists are fighting to be the next big ‘something’, creator/performer Duane Forrest doesn’t claw for your attention but asks you to sit back and unwind to some soothing melodies which blend jazz, reggae and soul.

The first thing I notice about Climb is the host and writer, Duane Forrest. He straps on a guitar, plays a soulful tune, there is a smile in his voice, and I’m charmed.  He has a gentle spirit about him. You feel like you are in his living room hearing...
