Description

Live! Laugh! Liquidate! is the message 8-year-old Charmian got from Hammer film She. Now a grown-up stand-up, she shares joys of obsession, jealousy and revenge. Your first love won’t forget you, however costly the therapy. Big bazookas are a free pass. Fame comes to those who hate. Special guest: The Colossal Squid. ‘I heart Charmian Hughes’ (Bridget Christie). ‘Best gags!’ (Independent). ‘Charming ribaldry’ (Guardian). ‘Mad aunt on acid’ (Dominion Post, New Zealand). ‘Irresistible combination of delightful lady comic and legendary, merciless temptress tops my list for Fringe' (Scotsman.)

She is back! One moment silky smooth as Charles Asnavour's voice, the next scaring the hell out of us as she confronts an ex, successfully stalked. Absolutely boNZer antipodean segment with rapid ane-liners better than any "best fringe joke". Packed wee venue - get there early. Fun for all the family. Except hers, obvs!

Get onboard and buckle up as Charmian Hughes takes you on a 45-minute ride that is silly, insightful, absurd and brilliant. What a talent! I cannot stop laughing. Charmian belongs in the movies.

Hughes is a real comedic talent; her crude and daft jokes are rib-tickling and her descriptive and soft way of telling stories is mellifluous and captivating

When she isn’t being self deprecating, Charmian has a deliciously naughty sense of humour, reserved for THAT wine filled aunt at Christmas. You know exactly what I mean. Her ability to flip between the two makes her set so entertaining and kept her audience engaged throughout. A real powerhouse of a performer!
