Description

Charlie returns with more historical comedy, characters and stand-up. Napoleon and Amelia Earhart are back by popular demand but watch out for Jane Austen. Pasting together experiences old and new, expect trips down dodgy memory lanes, opinionated puppets, spontaneous discoveries and a showstopping finale! Like her previous two Edinburgh shows, this promises to be exceedingly charming, a little bit weird and very funny. 'Talented in every style she pursues... a real renaissance woman' **** (BroadwayBaby.com). 'Deserves a wider audience' **** (DarkChat.moonfruit.com). 'Charming, hilarious and beautiful. An absolute must-see' **** (Edinburgh Festivals Magazine).

Charlie starts the show as herself, but don't be fooled- she can shapeshift into a variety of historical figures at the drop of a bonnet. Having seen her previous shows this one is lighter and more positive, something which is very welcome in today's climate. The show Charlie has created is thoughtful, creative and informative. See this if: you enjoy historical humour, historical learning a thing or five or the film output of Julia Stiles. Five stars.

A great show that was filled with funny observations, personal stories and excellent character acting. Charlie builds layers of humour, culminating in a fantastic finale.

Historical expertise and wit on par with David Mitchell. You will quickly become a fan.

A show that has something for everyone, comedy, puppets, historical encounters and a BIG surprise finish. A wonderfully hilarious insight into Charlie's personal life, cleverly intertwined with the tales of historical figures. I 100% recommend seeing this show! #FlyPlanes

Charlie's show is super great - funny, interesting, endearing and educational! The way she uses accents/impressions of characters from history to make points about modern life is both clever and rib-tickling! The personal touches were lovely too - her dives into her own family life and history had me reflecting on my own. Thanks Charlie!

Absolutely brilliant. A small intimate venue but well worth going to see. A show that needs supported as it is a gem that should be seen by everyone.A mix of history and monologues and anecdotes and characters. All leading to a surprise ending for which there are wee clues throughout. Best characters for us were Jane Austen and Amelia Earhart and her pink unicorn puppet and for the rest of the year you will be shouting out fly planes!
A definite 5 stars A+ grading. She deserves a bigger audience and fame and success and she has a wedding to pay for and so needs some extra cash. A splendid hour and well worth a visit

Characters from Napoleon to Jane Austin are explained through cheerful and friendly sketches mixed in with the life of local lady Charlie (she's getting married!) and puppets. A happy hour.

The Wee Review (3/5 stars) 43 days ago

It’s the first day of the Fringe, and given its 12:45 slot Charlie Vero-Martin‘s Scrapbook is probably the first show of the day for most of her audience. It’s a tough starting position, but Vero-Martin is up to the challenge. She’s bright, sweet and friendly, and she’s not at all...
