Description

This award-winning show offers a first trip for wee ones into the magic of the big top with thrills, spills, oohs and ahhs. Celeste invites you to spot a peek-a-boo pussycat, applaud a highwire hippo and fall in love with the cutest seal pup ever. A complete joy to watch, with a delightful retro feel. Beautifully made and enchantingly performed. Specifically designed for babies and young children. ‘Makes Mary Poppins look positively pedestrian... A triumph of paper engineering... Oozes creativity and a quiet Gallic charm.’ (Primary Times).

This was my two-year-old’s first Fringe kids show. I wasn’t sure how it would go after some hellish visits to the cinema but he was utterly delighted, entertained and transfixed from beginning to end with Celeste’s Circus. The colour scheme and patterns of the costume, set and trimmings are stylishly eye-catching without being gaudy; the props are fun and clever; the hand-crafted circus and characters are wonderful; and above all Celeste’s tone, energy and engagement is absolutely spot on. Would recommend for any little one! Delightful for all!

Celeste's show 2019 was my very first fringe festival show. For 35 minutes I was totally under her spell. All my favourite things were in her show ... puppets, waving, clapping and silly stuff... but the bubbles were the best. ... everyone loves bubbles.

Thank you Celeste, from Iris, 17months.

Celeste’s Circus, Faux Theatre’s production at the Storytelling Centre, is a warmly involving treat for 0-5 year-olds. Performer, creator and director Francisca Morton is Celeste, complete with exaggeratedly fake French accent, who welcomes the young audience expertly before taking them on a trip to a circus filled with cute animals....

This performance definitely has younger children in mind, with all its fun little puppets, bubbles and fake French accents. It certainly brought a smile to the young faces in the audience, and maybe one or two of the parent’s too.

The set is very simple and yet incredibly clever, and Celeste brings the magic alive, encouraging the children to cheer and clap. There were laughs for the young ones and adults alike. Looking around the room I saw amazement in the faces of the youngest babies and delighted anticipation in the older ones. A great fun show, which is well worth a visit!
