Description

This new musical by Michael Bascom retells the story of Heathcliff and Cathy, two soul-bound lovers thwarted by family, society and God. The sun shines over the moors, but a storm of vengeance is brewing in this story of a passionate romance which transcends life – and death – itself. Described as 'a highly moving production, brilliantly depicting the tragedy and passion of Bronte's novel' (TCS), the show sees its Fringe debut after premiering last November to a critically acclaimed, sold-out run at the University of Cambridge.

I saw this last night and it was a most compelling performance by all actors. Beautiful singing and harmonies, full bodied emotion and plenty of action. A classic story very beautifully presented - most enjoyed!

FIVE STARS - oh ma days what a talented cast! Music is absolutely beautiful, the voices of Cathy and Heathcliff are seriously brilliant. Really loved the relief of the "A drink a drinkity drink" song, as I thought the story would all be dark and heavy, but there's absolutely the right amount of light and humor scattered throughout. This is bound to be a popular one this year, so I'd get your tickets early on. I reckon this is a must-see!

Talented cast, all with beautiful voices sang clearly and melodically. Very impressive. The musical has some cracking songs though the 'drinking song' seemed out of place and added nothing to the story which was troubling and emotional.

Pretty and unusual music that sounded like a poem. All the singers were great but the actress playing Cathy had an especially beautiful voice well suited to the score.

The obsessively unhealthy relationship between Cathy and Heathcliff came across very well. Some great singing. Hindley's drinking song is a lot of fun.
