Description

Professor Jeremy Dibble (Durham University), authority on British music from the 19th century, reflects on the life of Sir John Stainer and his most famous work, The Crucifixion. Illustrated talk with accompaniment by the Cathedral Choir.

General venue access

  • Accessible entry: There is a permanent stone ramp attached to the north door. The main entrance on Palmerston place can be accessed by a wooden ramp that is temporarily placed over the stone steps. This ramp is not suitable for all wheelchair users so it is advised to use the north entrance.

    Number of stairs is provided as guidance and is not in addition to any wheelchair access type (lift/ramp etc) stated above.

How and when to make an access booking

Our access tickets service is available to anyone who:

  • Would like to book specific accessibility services, e.g. a hearing loop, audio description headsets, captioning units, seating in relation to the location of the BSL interpreter
  • Requires extra assistance when at a venue

  • Requires a complimentary personal assistant ticket to attend a performance
