Description
Candace tells the story of her unusual childhood in Memphis, Tennessee-raised by a single dad who loves the banjo and reading Karl Marx. Now living in London, she has begun to realise how her upbringing has influenced her worldview, her sometimes-questionable life choices and her relationships. This show is a playful takedown of the traditional nuclear family, American politics and society’s obsession with motherhood. Candace was a 2022 2Northdown New Act semi-finalist and her work has featured in Cosmopolitan and Vice. She will be supported by some of her favourite acts opening the show each day. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. I had a blast! More stand-ups should include a quiz show midway through. Candace Bryan really connects with her audience—the show feels conversational and her life story is as wild as it sounds. Go see this show!
