Description

Invisible is an unflinching, hilarious and unexpected insight into life at an age when the world ghosts you. Cally recalls the time she nearly disappeared in Iceland (the country, not the shop). From behind the lines of the mid-life resistance she gets her shellacked claws into survival, turning gender stereotypes on their head as she goes. She won't go gentle into that good night. She might go mental. But she'll never go gentle. As seen on QI. 'Properly funny' (Sandi Toksvig). 'Clever running gags' **** (TheArtsDesk.com). 'Exciting and hilarious talent' (Time Out).

An uplifting tale of moxie and humour, Cally Beaton invests Invisible with jeopardy, highs, lows, feminist resolve and a steady stream of fine, self-deprecating gags, liberally sprinkled like urine on white Icelandic snow. ...

This is an impressive performance – it’s hard to believe she only chucked in her old job for comedy two years ago. Thoroughly recommended, if only for the break-up song that someone left on her voicemail.
