Description

Top academics, dangerous ideas and your host, comedian Susan Morrison. Professor Alan Gow (Heriot-Watt University) explores how to keep sharp as we age. And Professor Antonella Sorace (The University of Edinburgh) debates if single-language speakers really exist and what it means to be a native speaker.

General venue access

  • Accessible entry: Inside the venue, there is a steep internal staircase consisting of 20 steps leading to the basement where The Lower Hall space are located. There is alternative wheelchair access from Rose Street North Lane. Seating is level and unfixed within these venues.

How and when to make an access booking

Our access tickets service is available to anyone who:

  • Would like to book specific accessibility services, e.g. a hearing loop, audio description headsets, captioning units, seating in relation to the location of the BSL interpreter
  • Requires extra assistance when at a venue
  • Has specific seating requirements
  • Is a wheelchair user
  • Requires a complimentary personal assistant ticket to attend a performance
