Description

Wolfgang Borchert. Doesn’t ring a bell? That’s the problem: nobody in Britain has heard of Germany’s greatest post-war writer. So, Wolfie’s taken it upon himself to right the wrong. In 1920s Hamburg, Wolfgang longs to be a thesp, but stuff gets in the way. His parents want him to be a bookseller. The Weimar Republic falls. The Third Reich rises. He’s conscripted. Spanning three countries, two trials, and one 300-mile hike, this is a life worth knowing about. And time is running out... Fifty minutes. Five actors. And one very determined German poet.
