Description

Noel Coward and Gertrude Lawrence, one of the most successful partnerships in the 30s and 40s, (dead now unfortunately...), are in Purgatory because God can't decide whether they deserve Heaven or Hell so it's up to the audience to vote on where to send them (after they've been thoroughly entertained by them, of course!). With sparkling wit, laugh-out-loud comedy and some of the most beautiful songs of the 20th century, spend some time learning about the lives, laughs and loves of Noel and Gertie.

Wasn't sure what to expect from this show, but I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Fantastic performances from all three of the actors and loads of laugh out loud moments! Definitely one of my 2019 Fringe highlights!

An interesting concept. Coward and Lawrence In Purgatory awaiting a decision as to their “future” / “fate.” The audience is to decide, based on their lives. Given the performances of the two actors, our decision was a foregone conclusion. Two very talented performers supported by a third angel and an excellent sound plot/technician. They created the characters so well, with excellent acting and superb singing. They commanded the smallish venue, and played to every audience member beautifully. See it and let their performances recreate two giants of the theatre for you.
