What a wonderful show! This cast gave their all to royally entertain us with captivating performances of musical theatre favourites. Joyous, heartfelt and uplifting. Congratulations to all concerned!
* They were only let down by a poor sound system - this was outwith their control but they dealt with it very professionally. I hope they will return to the Fringe undaunted.

This is proper fringe, a talented group of amateurs, mostly young, full of enthusiasm. A great start to the day.

Beyond Broadway is a must-see for any theatre lover. This welcome change to a typical theatre review show was an amazingly professional production from an amateur company. The show began with a ‘wicked’ section (this was repeated due to technical difficulties beyond the company’s control, I hope) which was presented by two strong singing girls opening the show. This then led to ‘six’ the story of Henry VIII’s ex-wives which was accompanied by string dancing and talented singers. ‘Beauty and the beast’ was up next with beautiful renditions of both songs sung and great stage presence from the two performers. The children then invaded the surprisingly cosy ‘symposium hall’ with a ‘Matilda’ section fronted by a very talented young lady singing ‘naughty’ she was joined by a multitude of young performers although expression and character was a touch lacking then seen in other numbers of this show. ‘Les miserables’ closed the show with some rousing, emotionally raw and beautifully sung numbers. ‘Stars’ was a 5-star song, ‘I dreamed a dream’ left me dreaming for more and ‘Bring him home’ was a particular highlight from the man who sang this admittedly difficult song. The show ended with ‘do you hear the people sing’ which was a welcome surprise to what had been expected with company’s of this size typically singing the more favourable ‘one day more’. Cre8iv Theatre Company’s ‘Beyond Broadway’ was an incredible show and I urge everyone to see this before they close this Saturday.

I presume this is a theatre school but do not hold that against them. Wicked went along nicely, with some solid performances, Did not enjoy "Six" so much but that is probably me being too old for the style. Les Mis had some of the adults performing - the first male sang very well, apart from the last note seeming slightly off and making me wince - the second male was singing a song in the tenor range and the hairs on the back of my arms stood up because he was so good - I have never heard better singing on stage. Matilda had some surprises. One young lady sang with a lot of presence and will go far. Then a tiny girl (I will not guess her age but well pre teen and looked about four feet tall) stood up and stunned us with a performance that many adult performers would have been proud of.
