Description

This exhibition features two artists whose creative work is inspired by beachcombings. Helen Fryer works in chalk-pastel and acrylic-ink, producing unpeopled images depicting the beauty of remote places. The exhibition features works which are highly evocative, atmospheric and alive with movement, reflecting the stormy and wild weather of Camusdarach beach (West Scotland), overlooking Eigg. Ceramicist Anne Morrison collects driftwood from the shores of the Clyde and incorporates them into raku-fired pots. A Glasgow School of Art graduate, she has treasured beach-found objects since childhood and uses them as inspiration and a starting point for her ceramic vessels and sculptures.
