Description

En garde! Can fierce competitors also be friends? Featuring on-stage fencing and verbal repartee, this funny, fast-paced, touching play explores the lives of two teenage girls, as they attack and parry their way through junior year... and into their futures. Gracie Gardner’s Athena makes its Edinburgh premiere following acclaimed productions in New York and London, where critics praised its portraying 'the awful, wonderful, completely ordinary business of growing up in a woman’s body', and called it 'a wolf-stare of a play that freezes you in its opening seconds and doesn’t really release you until the lights come up again'.

A good show from a couple of young folk taking us through many of the agonies of (relative) youth. Disappointing venue, if you don't get the front row you are not going to have a clear view of the set as there is no staging of the seating.
