Description

As society, evidence and our wider understanding progresses, and so does our ability to assign labels to things, because, let’s be honest, we have a deep desire and need to attribute our feelings and experiences to a definition. And that can be great, life-changing even, but all our heritage, our culture, our experiences, likes, our dislikes, our hobbies, our very being… How can you fit everything about a person into one tiny box, packing them away and shipping them off to be unpacked, unwrapped, assessed, fitted? All these bloody labels attached to us... But where’s the returns label?

General venue access

  • Wheelchair Accessible Toilets
  • Accessible entry: If not taking the lift there is a large flight to 1st floor of hotel then a further 4 steps to venue. Alternatively the building lift can be taken to the first floor and then a platform lift can be used instead of the 4 further steps. The access to the venue itself is along a very narrow corridor with a tight turn and further step, and is unfortunately therefore not accessible to wheelchair users.
  • Wheelchair access type: Not fully wheelchair accessible

  • Stairs: 11- 20
Number of stairs is provided as guidance and is not in addition to any wheelchair access type (lift/ramp etc) stated above.

Each venue can contain several space with different accessibly information. Visit the venue page for full venue accessibility info

Inner Triangle’s Assigned is witty, whilst also being thought provoking and engaging. The concept of the Assigned Warehouse looks at how society puts people into boxes and does little to remove them from those boxes when they are in there. Even if they don’t really fit the box. A wonderful story about breaking free from those very things assigned upon us and finding who we want to be.

With a good concept and interesting direction, this show explores how people are made. However, the writing needs some work to improve pace and avoid clichés. The acting is okay, and there are some comedic moments.
