Description

From the Heart of the Incident is the extraordinary story of Dr Issam Bassalat Hijjawi, a highly respected and much-loved Edinburgh medical doctor and Palestinian activist held in a Northern Irish prison for nearly 16 months and released on bail, under heavy conditions. The doctor still awaits trial. Here he works with fellow Palestinian and poet Ghazi Hussein, director Robert Rae and actor Helen Trew to dramatize his ongoing story that led him to lose his livelihood, his health and his family.

How and when to make an access booking

Our access tickets service is available to anyone who:

  • Would like to book specific accessibility services, e.g. a hearing loop, audio description headsets, captioning units, seating in relation to the location of the BSL interpreter
  • Requires extra assistance when at a venue
  • Has specific seating requirements
  • Is a wheelchair user
  • Requires a complimentary personal assistant ticket to attend a performance
